Boko Haram shoots down helicopter in Borno

 

Boko Haram insurgents have shot down a helicopter carrying passengers in Borno State.

The chopper reportedly belongs to the Nigerien government.

The incident occurred on Tuesday in a town near Banki, Bama local government area, which is frequently terrorized by Boko Haram.

Daily Trust reports that five persons lost their lives in the attack.

The total number of passengers in the aircraft is yet to be officially disclosed.
