There's a scriptural stance on every matter affecting human existence. The Holy Writ governs many activities involved in the daily lives we lead. From our comportment, to our affiliation, from our moderation, to our association. A mouth to mouth, mouth to cheek or mouth to hand contact signifies different things in respect to the scriptures. In this light, we look at 5 things the Holy Bible says about kissing.
1. A form of friendliness: The Holy Bible is filled with myriads of experiences where kidding showed a form of friendliness. Isaac kissed Jacob when he was to bless him, Jacob kissed Rachel, Joseph kissed his brethren and Moses kissed Aaron. These above examples shows that the Bible understands kissing as a form of friendliness and shows acquittance. Familiarity and friendliness could be the words to describe this kiss.
2. A form of deceit: A kiss can also be a form of deceit as it portrays friendliness. Absalom allowed David his father to kiss him when Joab brought him back because he had an ulterior motive. He in turn kissed the men who came to the King's gate to seek counsel because he wanted to turn their hearts away from the king. Before Joab killed Amasa, he called him out in pretense and killed him with the spear he hid. No wonder Jesus understood that Judas would betray him with a kiss. Such kiss could be termed 'Greek gifts' because they are actually deadly.
3. A form of respect: Whether it is self respect as displayed in Job 31: 27 or divine respect as stated in Psalm 2: 12, kiss shows a form of respect to either yourself or an higher authority.
4. A form of submission: The book of Proverbs says every man would kiss the lips of him who gives a right answer showing submission to someone who is able to proffer solutions in hard times.. A form of salutation: In some of Apostle Paul closing statements to the churches, he made mention of a holy kiss. A kiss that is hinged on the fact that we are brethren and without erotical influence or existence.
These are the 5 things the Holy Bible has to say about kissing. Therefore, Christians should abstain from all form of erotical influence involved in kissing unless you are married.
