Many of us will spend a fair bit of time in the morning and the evening with a regimented skincare routine that has amazing results. Our skin is healthy and glowing, free from blemishes, and makes us look healthy. However, there are a large number of people across the globe that aren’t blessed with the type of skin that allows this to be an easy process. Many will suffer from sensitive skin and other conditions that make us not want to even attempt to have an evening routine. There are things we can do that can help us turn this around and we’re going to take a look at some way in which you can help your skin become as healthy and as good looking as the celebrities.
Drink Lots Of Water
Firstly, let’s start with something that should be a staple in every human’s diet on a daily basis and that’s drinking water. Granted, it’s not as exciting as a fizzy drink or something with a little added flavor but it’s fundamental to our survival, we are made up of roughly 60% water after all. If that’s not enough to slurp at least 2 liters a day then what if I added the fact that it’s going to help your skin look great? It helps reduce puffiness in your face and will even help with the odd wrinkle, but the best thing drinking more water will do is help any acne or blemishes you have.
I would say at this point that drinking any old water isn’t necessarily going to be amazing for the skin. It should have the right amount of minerals to really have an effect which is why using a Kenmore softener is going to help you immensely when using water as a skin aid. Having the correct amount of minerals in your drinking water will help boost all the healing effects it has on your skin. As a teenager, I had terrible skin and the way I got over it was by upping my water intake. Trust me, and give it a go!
Healthy Fats
The view on having fat in your diet can be negative and that’s mainly down to the word, but you can, in fact, have healthy fats that will help you become much healthier. Healthy fats found in foods such as nuts, seeds, and fruits like avocado can help create healthy, strong cell membranes that protect against environmental damage on the skin. It does this by repairing and restoring the skin barrier. Not eating enough can cause your skin to become dry.
Antioxidants
They say we should eat with our eyes, but why? Quite literally, the more color you have on your plate the more antioxidants your food will contain and they’re great for the skin! Eating loads of fruits and vegetables will make your skin glow and look fantastic. Look for berries, leafy greens, and even dark chocolate (in moderation!).
Avoid Dairy
You might not have been expecting this, but if you are struggling with acne then dairy is one of the worst things you can eat! It’s said that the natural hormones within the milk can play havoc on our own, causing us to flare up in an instant. If you’re somebody that loves a glass of milk, or even a bowl full of cottage cheese, then I’m not saying you have to give it up altogether but it’s going to help you massively if you reduce your intake. People who drink a fair amount are 30% more likely to have acne as a teenager than those that reduce their consumption.
Sleep More
We all obviously need sleep to keep us sane and ensure we aren’t grumpy all day, every day. But it also has other functions and when we deprive ourselves of sleep it puts an awful lot of stress on the body, this, in turn, causes it to release more adrenaline and cortisol which are not good news for breakouts in the skin. Poor sleep quality can also increase the chances of wrinkles and other such blemishes. The recommended amount of sleep is 8 hours a day, so I would try to get as close to that as possible.
As you can see I haven’t mentioned one thing here that talks about a beauty product and that’s what I think is so unexpected. We can do so much for our skin without applying any sort of cream or product and it’s where we should all be starting. If you have bad skin then take a look at your diet and your lifestyle choices, the fun things are usually what is bad for us so keep them to a minimum and your skin should start to improve.
