The Executive Committee of the Academic Board of the Takoradi Technical University(TTU) after a meeting held on Wednesday, 3rd June 2020, concerning President Akufo-Addo’s permission for final year students to report on campus has outlined a number of safety measures ahead of the June 15 schools reopening.
The Executive Committee has decided for all final year students to report on campus for the continuation of their academic work on Monday, June 15. The Board added that the category of students referred to supra includes ‘Mech. BTech, HND, Orp (Professional/Certificate).
According to Committee there will be both online and face to face lectures but in complaince with the President’s directive all students must adhere to the policy of No mask, no entry at the Halls, the Library and all Academic

The Academic Board in a statement obtained by GeorgeWeb said the University Health Centre shall take the body temperature of all students before entry at any facility (Halls, Library and Academic Facilities).
The University as part of measures to slow the spread of the disease has ban mass gatherings like Conferences, Workshops, Sporting Events, Religious Activities, Dinners, etc.) and has also suspended all Hall Weeks and other outdoor events on the University campuses.
“Students are encouraged to practice good personal hygiene by thoroughly washing their hands with soap under running water before entering any facility on campus or regularly use alcohol-based hand sanitizer”

However, it said that the TTU COVID-19 taskforce shall be on standby to assist in any emergency situation on campus.
The University added that Deans, Directors, HoDs, Unit Heads, and Halt Wardens shall provide Veronica buckets and detergents in front of their

Additionally, Hand sanitizers shall also be provided at vantage points such as reception, etc for the use of staff, students, and visitors.
The University with all these safety measures being put in place entreats the Librarian to ensure appropriate physical/social distancing in the University Library.
It has also directed the Security Section ensure that suspicious person loitering about the University campus apprehended and handed over to the appropriate authorities.
“Only registered students with their details captured by the University will be allowed to attend lectures,” the management stated.
