A 3-hour-old baby from Kabul, Afghanistan, is currently being dubbed as the miracle infant after she survived being shot twice during the ISIS Maternity Ward Massacre.According to reports, 3 depraved terrorists that were heavily armed came at the maternity ward of the hospital to kill mothers.
Tots, nurses, and hospital guards were killed by the gunmen during the attack at the Barchi National Hosptial in Kabul, Afghanistan.
A helpless mother was reportedly forced to give birth in silence while cowering from the terrorists in a side room.
Nazia, the miracle baby, was shot twice in the leg as the terrorists tore through the maternity unit.
Nazia, the mother of the girl, was killed in the assault, said the authorities. Talking about the condition of little Nazia, Dr. Noor ul-Haq Yousafzai said:
We set Nazia’s fracture, so she will be able to walk when she grows up. But to see a newborn baby, just three hours old, shot twice. Everyone is shocked. This is inhuman.
A midwife at the hospital told the local news agencies how the mother of Nazia gave birth in silence as the gunmen were on a rampage. The midwife, whose identity was not shared with the public, said:
We helped her with our bare hands, we had nothing else in the room except some toilet paper and our scarves. When the baby was born, we cut the umbilical cord using our hands. We used our headscarves to wrap the baby and the mother.
The midwife added that Nazia, the mother of the infant, was in extreme pain but was trying her best to not make any sound.
It is said that the mother of the infant had to put her fingers in the baby’s mouth so she couldn’t cry.
There were 26 new mothers in the hospital when the gunmen entered the maternity unit of the hospital.
Officials said that the gunmen entered the hospitals posing as members of the Afghan Security Forces.
Around 16 people, which includes 11 mothers were killed during the 3-hour assault.
3 mothers were killed as they gave birth, said the police.
The 3 terrorists were killed by real members of the Afghan Security Forces afterward.
